Consider/Approve Fire Suppression System Bid


Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase and installation of a fire suppression system for the central office facility (specifications attached). Funds for this purchase were budgeted within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board; however, with the progress being made, an amendment to the budget will have to be made prior to the close of the fiscal year. We received two (2) bids for this purchase, which are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. Individual bids were as follows:

Key Fire Protection - $22,490
Superior Fire Systems – $21,440 (accepting voluntary #2)

The low bid meeting all specifications was submitted by Superior Fire Systems in the amount of $21,440, which accepts voluntary alternate #2 (no center tile placement required).

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the bid received as submitted by Superior Fire Systems in the amount of $21,440 for the purchase and installation of a fire suppression system for the central office facility.
